All Saint Goes All The Way
Phoenix, AZ - April 2, 2011 - Increased distance just aided
Pascual Gamez’s All Saint when he ran away with the $25,000 Wildcat
Handicap over one-and-three-eighths mile on the turf for his
fourth-straight win on Saturday at Turf Paradise.
The prompt 17-10 favorite, All Saint ran the simplest of races. The
5-year-old son of Skimming went to the lead under Michael Iammarino and
increased his advantage to as much as nearly 10 lengths on the final
turn. He then galloped across the finish line with a
four-and-one-quarter-length winning margin. He was timed in 2:14.38 for
the marathon victory.
Fox In The House finished second by one length over third-place finisher
I Am Awesome.
The W.R. Whitehouse-trained All Saint was the horse to beat in the
6-horse field after winning his three previous starts, all stakes races
at Turf Paradise at a least one mile. He started his winning spree with
an upset win at 12-1 odds in the Mills Handicap over one mile and then
moved to the turf course to win the Fitzsimmons Handicap at one mile. He
moved up to one-and-one eighth mile to win the Turf Paradise Handicap, a
race that was taken off the turf course and contested on a sloppy main
track.
A minor stakes winner in Southern California, All Saint raced to his
seventh career win from 24 starts in the Wildcat.

Another winning favorite scored a stakes victory earlier on Saturday’s
Turf Paradise program when 6-5 choice Whiskey Row won the $32,100
Arizona Stallion Stakes, a seven-and-one-half-furlong test on the grass
for 3-year-old offspring of Arizona stallions.
The Rocky Bar son Whiskey Row made a sucessful bid from a striking
position to win by two-and-one-half lengths over Gotta Skedaddle. Mighty
Buck finished three quarters of a length behind Gotta Skedaddle for
third in the 6-horse lineup.
Whiskey Row was timed in 1:31.31 for his second career victory.
On January 8 at Turf Paradise, he won a maiden optional claiming race
and earned his favoritism in the Arizona Stallion Stakes with a
fourth-place finish in the Tempe Handicap in his prior start.
