Another World Record at Sunland Park

Sunland Park, NM - March 1, 2011 - For the second time in three weeks, the 330-yard world record and track record fell at Sunland Park when Sheri Galvez and Tony Sedillo’s Neversaynever raced the distance in :15.859 on Sunday afternoon.

The Sedillo-trained Neversaynever won the starter allowance race by nearly two lengths for his third-straight victory, all at Sunland Park.

The record-setting victory eclipsed the mark of:15.951 set by WCRseperateandcool in a $12,500 claiming race on February 6. WCRseperateandcool’s mark, which was approved by AQHA last week, lowered the 330-yard world and track mark of :15.999 set by CD Frontier Justice last year.

A 5-year-old son of Woodbridge, Neversaynever started his current winning streak with a win over New Mexico-breds in a $6,250 starter-allowance race and then stepped up to narrowly defeat open company at the $10,000 starter-allowance level. Sunday’s win was over state-breds at the $6,250 starter-allowance level.
