Make It Bentley scores again Oklahoma
City - April 1, 2011 - Following the Remington Park Derby trials
Friday,Make It Bentley won the $28,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap for
Oklahoma-breds. Owned by Sills and Swindell, Make It Bentley is trained
by Willis and was ridden by Brooks, giving them their third wins on the
evening.
Make It Bentley covered 350 yards in :17.344 seconds, finishing a head
better than Finche and Fishin CR who shared the place with a dead-heat.
Favored at even-money, Make It Bentley paid $4.20 to win, $2.80 to place
and $2.40 to show. Finche paid $2.40 to place and $2.20 to show while
Fishin CR paid $2.20 to place and $2.80 to show.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Make It Bentley and his second
straight this season. An Oklahoma-bred gelding by Make It Anywhere from
the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Opener Bentley, Make It Bentley has won six
races from 13 attempts in his career and three overall at Remington
Park. The winner’s share of $17,400 moves Make It Bentley’s lifetime
earnings to $292,187.
Willis and Brooks also teamed to win with Capo de Capi ($3.60 to win) in
race three. The hat trick moves Willis to 21 wins for the season which
leads the trainer standings. Brooks now has 22 victories, placing him
second in the jockey standings behind the leading G.R. Carter who has
26.
A dozen trials will be contested on both Saturday night and Sunday
afternoon, searching for the qualifiers for the Remington Park Futurity.
That event will have total purse distribution of $1 million for the
futurity, the juvenile and the trials.
Saturday’s trials begin at 6pm with Sunday racing underway at 1:30pm.
Open daily at 10am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington
Park also features Henry Hudson’s on the first floor, which opens for
