Chicks Gotta Secret Finds
Spot With Mr Jet Moore Victory
RUIDOSO DOWNS, New Mexico (August 6, 2010) – Higheasterjet Handicap third-place
finisher Chicks Gotta Secret did not need to face the two horses who beat him in
the Higheasterjet and found the competition to his liking with a solid victory
in the Grade 3, $30,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap on Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso
Downs.
The 2-1 favorite Chicks Gotta Secret won by one length over Stare Ya Down, who
made a determined bid within the final 150 yards of the 400-yard dash. Anywhere
Bully finished just a nose behind Stare Ya Down for third in the race for older
horses.
Chicks Gotta Secret, with Jacky Martin aboard for the first time, was timed in
:19.495.
Owned by Beatrice Alaniz and Naomi Salas, Chicks Gotta Secret has spent most of
2010 competing at the conditioned allowance level and then stepped up with his
third-place run behind Shy Ann Jess and Shake It Quick in the 350-yard
Higheasterjet on July 3 at 24-1 odds.
The J.J. Gonzales II-trained Chicks Gotta Secret will now probably point to the
Grade 3, $40,000 All American Gold Cup on September 5. Higheasterjet winner Shy
Ann Jess should resurface in the All American Gold Cup.
A 5-year-old New Mexico-bred son of Chicks A Blazin, Chicks Gotta Secret has now
won four of 18 starts after being purchased for $6,200 at the Ruidoso Select
Quarter Horse Sale. He has earned $82,368.
