Jumpn Shake Returns To
Winning Form
Cypress, CA – Feb. 12, 2012 - Chad Hart and Bobby Cox’s Jumpn Shake
raced to his first win in 16 months with a 9-1 upset win in the
$16,000 Anaheim Overnight Handicap on Sunday night to give trainer
Jaime Gomez his 1,001 win at Los Alamitos.
Carlos Huerta was aboard for the three-quarter-length win in :17.532
for the 350 yards.
Starting from the third post position in the nine-horse field of
older runners, Jumpn Shake drifted in at the start and then exerted
his dominance to pull away for his first win since taking a Dash For
Cash Futurity trial back in the fall of 2010. He managed two
third-place finishes from four starts last year and qualified for
the Dash For Cash Derby at Lone Star Park.
The son of Jumpn was making his second start at Los Alamitos and
showed he could have a graded stakes future, especially at shorter
distances, at the Southern California track. He made his local debut
on January 15 and responded with a third-place finish behind
Significant Cartel in the 350-yard Cypress Handicap. He has three
wins from his latest six starts at 350 yards,
Jumpn Shake earned $8,800 in the Anaheim to take his career earnings
to $142,944. He covered the 350 yards in :17.53. Dutch Masters III
bred the 4-year-old sorrel sprinter. Frosty Younger, who was looking
for his third straight victory, settled for a runner-up effort,
while First Down Dash Handicap winner Jus Ledoux It hit the wire
third after battling for the early lead. First Black Wagon, Flaming
Out, Significant Cartel, Go Straight, TR Eddie and Cash Him Out
completed the field.
