Eyesa Western Stays Sharp In Swift
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Jan. 28, 2012 - The Anireal Chavira-owned and
-trained Eyesa Western overcame breaking in at the start and fought
to a neck win in the $15,000 Swift Stakes at 350 yards on Saturday
at Louisiana Downs.
A seven-year-old gelding by Eyesa Special, Eyesa Western stopped the
clock in :17.635 with Bobby Ransom aboard.
Charal Kid held the lead, however settled for second and Ja Jess
Perfect was third in the field of nine older horses.
Eyesa Western has made his mark at shorter distances and was moving
up in distance for the 350-yard Swift. Two starts prior, he won a
$20,000 optional claiming race over 300 yards at Evangeline Downs
and then was a close second in the 250-yard Harrah’s Dash.
The Swift Stakes was Eyesa Western’s 50th career start and his
eighth win. He also has nine seconds and nine thirds while spending
most of his career at the shortest distances.
