Wowzer Won Repeats With Hialeah Invitational Championship Win
 

HIALEAH, FL. - FEBRUARY 2, 2010 - Kathleen O. Matey's homebred mare Wowzer Won raced to a decisive three-quarter-length victory in the $75,000 featured 8th race on a sloppy track Tuesday at Hialeah Park.
 
 
Fresh off her win on December 28th in the City of Hialeah Stakes, Wowzer Won raced the 440 yards in :21.382 for her 8th career victory from 27 starts.
 
 
Jockey Rodrigo Vallejo hustled Wowzer Won down the stretch after braking second to Mbn Finest Hour who reared and the brake, making her final surge jumps from the wire for the win. Hydrostatic 3/4 lengths back settled for the show.
 
 
Post-time favorite Materialist reared and ran off at the brake finished last in the field of ten.
 
 
The Kearl Judd-trained Wowzer Won was bred in Texas by owner Kathleen O. Matey, the five-year-old mare is by Streakin Sixes out of Four Oh Won Kay by Clayx.
 
 
Wowzer Won rewarded her many backers with $6.40, $4.00 and $3.60. Mbn Finest Hour returned $5.40 and $3.40 while Hydrostatic was worth $3.80 to show.
