TF First Pick is Fastest
Qualifier to South Florida QH Derby
Hialeah, Fl., Feb. 4, 2012 - Donald Ray Jacobs'
TF First Pick is the fastest qualifier for the February 19,
$100,000-added South Florida Quarter Horse Derby at Hialeah Park.
Saddled by Ron Raper and ridden by Oscar
Delgado, TF First Pick won the last of four trials by one-length
from fifth-fastest qualifier Feature My News. The chestnut gelding
by the First Place Dash stallion Dash To First Place covered 440
yards in :21.571 while scoring his fifth win in eight starts and
increasing his earnings to #137,738.
TF First Pick was making his first start since
December 26, when he won the 440-yard, $223,840 Hialeah Laddie
Futurity.
Second-fastest qualifier SRD Bobwirebob won the
first trial three-quarters of a length at odds of nearly 16-1. The
bay gelding by Coronas Prospect races for Sheila Dorgan from the
barn of trainer Henry Smith.
