Hotdoggin Filly
is Top FQHRA Stallion Futurity Qualifier
Hialeah, FL Dec. 16, 2011 -
Upgraded, a Texas-bred filly by the Reckless Dash stallion Hotdoggin,
is the fastest qualifier for the December 30, $50,000-added Florida
Quarter Horse Racing Association Stallion Futurity (R) at Hialeah
Park.
On Friday, Upgraded won the first
of three trials by a neck from odds-on favorite and second-fastest
qualifier Mr Corona Blue, as the filly covered 350 yards in :17.742
under jockey Francisco Ramirez Jr. Ricardo Martinez saddled Upgraded
for owner Antonio Saavedra.
Upgraded has earned $20,753 from
six starts, and his three victories include a 350-yard, $16,000
non-winners-of-two allowance spring at Hoosier Park in Indiana on
August 27.
Mr Corona Blue has won two of
eight races, including the September 3, $37,890 John Deere Prairie
Meadows Juvenile Challenge, for his owner, Nancy S. McCoy of
Wichita, Kansas.
