Chivalry In Champion Of Champions
Cypress, CA Nov. 19, 2011 - Stern Ranches homebred Chivalry SR
professionally dominated the first of two Z. Wayne Griffin Directors
trials with the fastest qualifying mark on Saturday night at Los
Alamitos to earn a starting spot in the Grade 1, $750,000 Champion
Of Champions on December 10.
Chivalry SR completes the Champion Of Champions lineup. If any of
the horses are unable to compete in the Champion Of Champions then
the field will be filled with the next fastest horse(s) from the
Directors Trials. The next fastest horse is Sparky E Boy, second to
Chivalry in their trial, and the other trial winner Senor Toby is
third in line for a Champion Of Champions spot from the Directors.
Chivalry SR broke alertly under jockey Rodrigo Aceves from the
second post position and drew away from Sparky E Boy to win by
one-and-one-quarter lengths with a :19.377 time for the 400 yards.
Sparky E Boy was clocked in :19.595.
