first post at 6:45pm, Retama’s meet highpoints will be

Stallion Stakes Series, and closing night on Saturday,

Houston Race Park will initiate a
purse increase for the remainder of
the 2011 Thoroughbred meet. An
additional $1,000 will be added to
each of the races, an increase of
6.5% for the final eight days of the
racing season, which concludes on
Monday, March 7.

ACTUAL PROPOSAL - AUSTIN, Texas - February
14, 2011 - According to a new statewide poll conducted by Baselice and
Associates released today, 82 percent of Texas voters think the Texas
Legislature should allow Texas voters to decide if slot machines at race tracks
and on the three federally recognized Indian reservations should be allowed by
putting it to a vote in a statewide constitutional amendment election.
Houston, TX - Feb. 12, 2011 - Mother Nature has been cruel to many states this
winter and not very kind to racing. Freezing weather forced cancellations at
many tracks in the country including Friday, February 4 at Sam Houston Race
Park. However, she did one favor for Houston racing fans by delivering a fast,

lawsuit in which a Texas corporation maintains it was taken for $600,000 in a

Weather Channel. For the first time since he began riding in 2007, he decided to
make a change and ride in Texas instead of the Chicago circuit. While relentless
storms and record snowfall have tormented the Midwest, Wade enjoyed not only a
few days in the 70s but a winning reception at Sam Houston Race Park.

82nd Texas Legislative Session is well underway. The group Texas HORSE, a
non-profit group dedicated to preserving the Texas horse industry in which AQHA
is a member, is working on the legislative front.

Austin, TX - Feb. 10, 2011 - Texas Thoroughbred Association President Jacquelyn
Rich, DVM, has sent a cover letter to Rolando Pablos, chairman of the Texas
Racing Commission, accompanied by a copy of a resolution passed unanimously by
the breed organization’s 21-member board of directors in support of the request
to transfer the license of Lone Star Park to Global Gaming LSP, LLC. The action
occurred during the TTA Board meeting on January 26.

Saturday night as a talented field of fillies and mares competed in the $50,000
Jersey Lilly Stakes. It was only fitting that Ice Mist, a 4-year-old filly from
the barn of Bernie Flint captured the mile and one-sixteenth feature.

FRIDAY LIVE RACING CANCELED AT SAM HOUSTON RACE PARK
- HOUSTON, TX - Sam Houston Race Park has canceled live racing tonight, Friday,
February 4, due to winter weather. The weather has created dangerous conditions
on the track’s two racing surfaces as well as slick conditions for drivers. At
this time, The Park plans to remain open for simulcast operations on Friday,
February 4, unless otherwise posted. Live racing will resume on Saturday,
February 5. Post times for this weekend's live racing schedule are Saturday (7
p.m.), and Monday (1:20 p.m.). There will be no live racing on Sunday, February
6; Sam Houston Race Park will be open for simulcasting all weekend.

Sunny Edwards Dies

“Sunny” Edwards, 94, died January 31, at his home in Big Spring, Texas.
A former president of Ruidoso Downs, Edwards raced stakes winners such as
Sheswright, an earner of $109,258 who ran in Easy Date’s All American Futurity,
and Bar Forth, who won a division of the Ruidoso 550 Championship and contested
the finals of the Grade 1 Kansas Futurity, Kansas Derby, World’s Championship
