Video jackpot game gets a trial
- Omaha, NE - Feb. 3, 2012 - Fans at Horsemen's Park
might have noticed a new addition to the simulcast
facility — the installation of 32 Bank Shot
machines. Bank Shot, a video jackpot game that is
located primarily in bars across the state, was
ruled legal in December by the Nebraska Supreme
Court. The Court rejected Attorney General Jon
Bruning's argument that the Bank Shot games were
illegal gambling devices and that they should be
removed.

Commission postpones action in Anderson case
- LINCOLN, NE - Jan. 6, 2012 - The Nebraska Racing
Commission delayed taking action Thursday upon a
request by suspended trainer David Anderson to be
reinstated. Anderson, a member of the Nebraska
Racing Hall of Fame, was fined $4,000 and suspended
for three years in February of 2010 after two of his
horses tested positive for banned substances at
Omaha's Horsemen's Park. The request for the early
reinstatement was made by Anderson's attorney, Mike
Kelley of Omaha. |

sponsoring a bill that would create a state agency
to inspect meat-processing facilities, in part so

November 19, 2010 - The schedule opens at Fonner
Park in Grand Island, with 31 days of live racing

move on to Lincoln Race Course for 32 days of live
racing between May 13 and July 17. Horsemen's Park
in Omaha will run July 21-24 with Columbus Race Park
to wrap up the schedule with 23 days of live racing
between July 29 and Sept. 11. |

is consultant for ‘Secretariat’ - Movie-goers won’t
spot Justin Jensen on the screen when “Secretariat”
is shown in movie theaters. The saga of the famous

Jensen’s expertise, however, will be visible in the
movie because he served as a veterinary consultant
on some of the sets that were filmed in Louisiana,
