annual race meet will begin Friday, May
18 and run through Labor Day for a total
of 62 race days. New on the schedule
this year is a series of sprints for
$3,500 claiming horses culminating with
championship races for each sex offering
a $25,000 purse. To compete in the
$25,000 championships, horses must earn
points by racing in at least two of the
three qualifying sprints beginning June
14. |

Canterbury Park receives approval to conduct 62-day mixed
meet in 2012 - Shakopee, MN - Nov. 18,
2011 - Canterbury Park received approval from the Minnesota
Racing Commission on Thursday to conduct a 62-day
thoroughbred and quarter horse race meet in 2012. The meet
will begin Friday, May 18 and run through Monday, September
3. Thursday and Friday racing will begin at 7:00 p.m. with
weekend and holiday racing beginning at 1:30 p.m. |

Canterbury
Park To Resume All Operations Thursday
- Shakopee, MN -- Canterbury Park announced today
it will resume card casino, simulcast and live
racing operations on Thursday, July 21 after a
20 day suspension of its operations due to a
budget impasse that triggered a partial shutdown
of state government beginning July 1. The budget
stalemate ended this morning when budget
legislation was adopted by the Minnesota
legislature and was signed into law by the

Operations Due To State Shutdown

Effective at midnight, Canterbury Park
temporarily suspended all of its gaming
operations. This action was taken
because of the inability of Minnesota’s
Governor and Legislature to reach an
agreement on the State’s budget. The
lack of a budget agreement forced the
shutdown of many state government
agencies and functions, including the
Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC), the
agency which regulates Canterbury Park’s
pari-mutuel and Card Casino gaming
