Turco bringing full barn to Fonner

February 13, 2011 -
Trainer Chuck Turco will have a barn full of horses,
most of whom are very well rested, when Fonner Park’s
31-day racing meet begins on Feb. 25.
A number of those horses, including Reach One More and his full sister Lou Lou Larue, haven’t raced since the four-day meet at Horsemen’s Park in July.
From the Ashes and Tiger Lake also have been off since July.
“We stopped on all those after Omaha,” Turco said. “Most of the bigger races in the state were over with and we just decided not to take them anywhere else.
“We hashed around taking Reach One More somewhere because he really could run anywhere. It wouldn’t have to be just Nebraska. Having said that, it’s a lot easier for him to not do that and just go home, so that’s what he did.”
Reach One More, a five-year-old gelding who is a son of Blumin Affair, ran second to Shadowbdancing in last year’s $75,000 Bosselman-Gus Fonner Handicap at Fonner Park.
