“Race For The Rescues”

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena Sunday, October 23, 2011

Oct. 6, 2011 - After the Finish is one of 9 non-profit dog, cat and horse rescue organizations participating in the 6th Annual Race for the Rescues, hosted by The Rescue Train. This is a fundraiser and adoption day for the homeless and abandoned animals of Los Angeles, CA. Join us on Sunday, October 23rd from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm for a 5K run (3.1 miles), a 10K run (6.2 mile) and Kids Fun Run/Walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Last year over 2,200 people participated. In the past five years, Race For The Rescues raised over $400,000 to help support a variety of non-profit rescue groups and animal welfare foundations.

After the Finish Line is the ONLY horse rescue participating. Our team is called “After the Finish Line”. As a runner or walker in the event we ask you to join team “After the Finish Line” to raise money for rescued Thoroughbred ex-racehorses. Ask your family, friends and co-workers to sponsor you. Also, you don't need to run or walk to participate. You can make an on-line donation or mail a check to After the Finish Line.

Jane Lynch of the Glee TV series and Mario Lopez of EXTRA will co-host the sixth annual Race for the Rescues. This is a day of fun with Hollywood flair that includes celebrities, media exposure and great sponsors. Post race activities include an awards ceremony, a huge silent auction, give-a-ways, unique vendors, a doggie fashion show and unique pet products. Make sure you visit After the Finish Line's booth to learn how you can help the Thoroughbred ex-racehorses.

We want to thank The Rescue Train for inviting After the Finish Line to join the Race for the Rescues. To contact The Rescue Train please email info@therescuetrain.org or call (323) 899-5640.
