Portland Meadows releases 2011-2012 Live Racing schedule

Portland, OR—Portland Meadows, Oregon’s largest horse racing track has released its 2011-2012Live Racing schedule. Live Racing will follow a similar format kicking off with Opening Day on Monday October 17, 2011 racing until Closing Day on Wednesday March 14, 2012.

Live Racing will be conducted on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday schedule during October, November and December, and will switch to just Mondays and Wednesdays in January, February and March. There will be 55 total days of racing during the 2011-2012 meeting.

New this season will be an earlier first post time, set for 12:00pm PST.

Headlining the season will be a special Sunday card of racing on Sunday December 4th, which will serve as Oregon Championship Day. The Oregon Championship Day card will be loaded with stakes races for Oregon-bred runners. Because of Oregon Championship Day running on Sunday December 4th, there will be no live racing on Tuesday December 6th.

Portland Meadows remains open for simulcast wagering seven days a week all summer long as well as during the live racing season.
