$0.50 PICK 5 WAGER APPROVED FOR EMERALD DOWNS

AUBURN, Wash. (June 10, 2011) – Emerald Downs will add a $0.50 Pick 5 to its exotic wagering menu beginning Friday, June 17. The Washington Horse Racing Commission approved the new wager at its monthly meeting Friday.

The Pick 5 will be on the final five races daily and includes a carryover provision. On days with no winning tickets, 80 percent of the net pool would carryover to the next live racing day, with 20 percent paid as consolations.

“The $0.50 Pick 5 is designed to give fans a lot of bang for their buck,” said Emerald Downs Director of Marketing Adrian Buchan. “On days with carryovers, players might find the wager especially attractive. For a relatively modest investment they can cover a lot of horses, and have a realistic chance at a big payout.”

Should there be a carryover going in to the final day of the meeting, Sunday, Sept. 25, there would be a mandatory payout of the entire net pool.
