G1 Winner One Sweet Jess to Burns Ranch in 2012

MENIFEE, CA—NOVEMBER 20, 2011—Golden State Million Futurity(G1) winner One Sweet Jess will stand the 2012 season at Burns Ranch near Menifee, California. His fee has been set at $5,000.

The 3-year-old, by leading living sire of money earners Mr Jess Perry, is expected to start in Saturday's Z. Wayne Griffin Directors Trials in hopes of capturing a berth to the prestigious Grade 1 $750,000 Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos Race Course. One Sweet Jess kicked off his 3-year-old year by posting a 400 yard Los Alamitos track record in the El Primero Del Ano trials, before going to Ruidoso Downs for the summer season.

Owned by Jose and Gustavo De La Torre, One Sweet Jess has won or placed in 12 of 18 career starts, earning $951,792. He also won the Ed Burke Juvenile Stakes and was second in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1), in his last start. He qualified to the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1), All American Derby(G1), Ruidoso Derby(G1) and El Primero Del Ano Derby(G2).

The royally bred athlete is out of a grade 3 winning full sister to leading sire Walk Thru Fire, One Sweet Dash. An earner of $81,937, One Sweet Dash is the dam of 6 ROM, two stakes winners including track record setter Hes A Standout ($45,402). She is also the graddam of stakes-placed Tres Fast Again.

One Sweet Jess' second dam is the "Blue Hen" Beduino (TB) mare Sweet Beduino. Stakes-placed, she is the dam of 14 ROM including grade 2 winner A Dash Of Beduino ($103,934); grade 3 winner The Jet Is Royal ($91,613); grade 3 winner One Sweet Dash (see above); stakes winner Posting The Colors ($36,776); stakes winner Fly With Honor and stakes-placed Sign It Sweet.
