Llano Teller
Becomes Supreme Race Horse
Oct. 28, 2011 - With a win and the fastest qualifying time in the October 21
trials to the Texas Classic Derby (G1), Llano Teller became AQHA’s newest
Supreme Race Horse.
The honor is given by AQHA to a horse that during its racing career earns
$500,000 or more and wins at least 10 races, including two or more open Grade 1
stakes races.
Llano Teller is the 29th racing American Quarter Horse since 2002 to earn the
distinction of AQHA Supreme Race Horse.
Llano Teller was bred by Terry Wootan’s Wootan Racing of Llano, Texas, and the
3-year-old gelding is owned in partnership by Wootan with Reed Land & Cattle Co.
Llano Teller is trained by Jeffery “Heath” Reed, and has won 10 of 17 starts,
with two seconds and two thirds. He has earned $1,539,727. His stakes wins
include the Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity, Ruidoso Derby and All American
Derby. He was also third in the Heritage Place Futurity (G1), fourth in the

Llano Teller is from the second crop of sire Teller Cartel, who has from three
crops to race sired the earners of more than $3.8 million. The blaze-faced bay
gelding is out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Annie Eye Over, who also produced
stakes winner Eyesa Lil Cuervo (by Lil Bit Cuervo, $63,947).
The final for the $335,631-est. Texas Classic Derby (G1) is November 12.
