Governor Makes Appointments to
Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission
Topeka, KS - April 07, 2011 - Kansas Governor
Sam Brownback announced appointments to
the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission
today.
“I appreciate the willingness of these Kansans to give of their time,
energy and talent. With their help, we will make our great state even
better,” Gov. Brownback said.
The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is the agency empowered by the
Kansas Expanded Lottery Act and Pari-mutuel Racing Act to regulate
expanded gaming and pari-mutuel racing in Kansas. It is made up of a
board of 5 commissioners that meet monthly to conduct regulatory
business for gaming in Kansas. The Kansas Senate confirmed the following
appointments to serve four year terms on the KRGC:
Dennis McKinney, Greensburg, is a farmer and Stockman and served as
State Representative for the 108th House District and as State
Treasurer.
Timothy Shultz, Topeka, is an attorney whose primary areas of practice
are business litigation and business and transactional law.
Jay Shadwick, Overland Park, is an attorney who primary areas of
practice are real estate, banking and business transactions.
