IQHRA Stallion Service Auction Saturday January 7

Des Moines, IA - Jan. 4, 2012 – The Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Association will conduct its annual Stallion Service Auction on Saturday January 7, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time.

The auction will be staged in the Events Center at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Altoona, IA. Bids can be submitted in-person or by telephone (515-957-3043 or 515-957-3514). The phone lines will be up and running at 9:30 AM CT, although bids will not be accepted until the actual start of the auction.

IQHRA President Tom Lepic says the association is extremely excited about this year’s Stallion Service Auction, “We feel we have a tremendous group of stallions! The phone calls we have been receiving prior to the sale lead us to believe it's going to be a tremendous success. “

Lepic added, “50% of the net proceeds from our sale go towards added money for the Iowa Double Gold Futurity and the Iowa Double Gold Derby. The IQHRA is very grateful to all of the stallion owners and farms that have donated stallion services for 2012 and have made our sale and progress possible.”

The list of stallions whose services will be open to bidding in the auction reads like a “who’s who” of the top Quarter Horse stallions in the United States:
