Grade 2 winner
Oratory to Eureka Thoroughbred Farm in Texas TTA - Jan. 11, 2012 (Austin, TX) - Oratory, a Grade 2-winning son of Pulpit, has been relocated to stand at Mike Grossman?s Eureka Thoroughbred Farm in Fredericksburg, Texas, for the 2012 breeding season. His fee has been set at $3,500. Oratory previously stood at Country Life Farm in Maryland. Never worse than second in five career starts, Oratory emerged as one of the top 3-year-olds of 2005 while running for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum?s Darley Stable. The bay colt broke his maiden in February of that year at Aqueduct and then picked up an allowance/optional claiming victory in April, also at Aqueduct. In his stakes debut that May, Oratory rolled to a 4 ¾-length win in Belmont Park?s Peter Pan Stakes (G2) and set a stakes record that still stands with a 1 1/8-mile trip timed in 1:46.35. He earned a 114 Beyer Speed Figure for that effort, the third-best for any 3-year-old that year. Oratory was retired after suffering an injury in a subsequent workout. From three crops to race, Oratory has sired the earners of more than $3.3 million. His progeny earnings for 2011 came in at $1.7 million, which ranked him at #6 in Maryland and would have put him at #1 in Texas. Bred by Louie Roussel III, Oratory is out of the stakes-winning Dehere mare Arrested Dreams. | ||
