Evangeline Downs
Opelousas, LA - March 30, 2011 –Evangeline Downs fans will have the
chance to test out a new wager when the South-Central Louisiana track
opens the 2011 Spring/Summer meeting Wednesday, April 6.
The fifty-cent Trifecta will allow patrons to make more multiple wagers
on what is one of the most popular bets offered. Previously, the minimum
base bet on the Trifecta at Evangeline Downs was $1. Tracey Coonce,

of racing featuring full fields, many with 14 runners, we believe this
new wager will not only be attractive to our customers but also a
benefit to them as well.” The Trifecta will be offered on all races at
Evangeline Downs with six or more betting interests.
In addition to the fifty-cent Trifecta, Evangeline Downs will once again
offer a full complement of exotic wagers on all races including Quinella,
Exacta, Superfecta, and Rolling Pick-Three’s. There will also be an
early and late double starting with the first and the next to last
races, as well as a Pick-Four which will be contested on the night’s
final four events. Most exotic wagers will have a $1 minimum. The only
exceptions are as follows, the Trifecta and the Pick-Four will have a
fifty-cent minimum, and the very popular Superfecta will feature a
minimum base bet of ten-cents.
Racing for the 89-evening meet will once again be conducted on a
four-evening a week schedule, Wednesday through Saturday with a first
