Fasig-Tipton expands Midlatic Sale
April 8, 2011 - Fasig-Tipton’s Midlantic Sale of Two-year-olds in
Training at Timonium has been expanded to a two-day format to
accommodate approximately 600 entries. The sale will be held on Monday
and Tuesday, May 23 and 24, with each of the two daily sessions
beginning at 10:00 a.m. The two days of under-tack shows at Timonium
will begin at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday and Thursday, May 18 and 19.
The cover horse for the 2011 catalogue is 2007 Midlantic 2-year-old
graduate No Advantage. He was sold at Timonium for just $14,000 and, to
date, has won 9 races, for earnings of $487,262. He is the winner of the
2011 G2 General George Handicap. Catalogues will be available from all
Fasig-Tipton offices by approximately April 22 and the online version
will be posted at the company’s website a few days before this.
The under-tack shows and sales days surround the weekend of the 2011
Preakness Festival at nearby Pimlico. “This is an active and popular
week for the Thoroughbred community and the sale, which is one of the
oldest two-year-old sales in North America. This auction has established
itself as a source of performance and value,” said local director of
sales Paget Bennett. “We look forward to welcoming clients to Timonium
and feel confident the quality of the catalogue will be productive for a
wide range of buyers.”
