Delta Downs helps local Middle School

Vinton, La. - Oct. 14, 2011 - Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel has recently announced that it has made an $8,000 contribution to the Calcasieu Parish School Board to purchase new computers for the computer lab at Vinton Middle School.

“We are so appreciative of Delta Downs’ commitment to our community and our school,” said Stephen R. Hardy, Principal of Vinton Middle School. “This donation will help us complete a much needed upgrade to our computer lab. This new technology will enhance the learning experience of our current and future students.”

The new computers are scheduled to be purchased and installed in time for the beginning of the second semester in January 2012.

“Southwest Louisiana is our home, and we are committed to sharing our success with this community,” said Steve Kuypers, Vice President and General Manager of Delta Downs. “We’re pleased to be able to make this donation to the Calcasieu Parish School Board for Vinton Middle School, and hope it will have a lasting, positive impact.”
