$1,000,000 DELTA DOWNS JACKPOT TO
BE BROADCAST LIVE ON SIRIUS XM RADIO NOVEMBER 19
VINTON, LA. – Nov. 16, 2011 - Delta Downs Racetrack Casino and Hotel announced
that the $1,000,000 Delta Downs Jackpot (Gr. III) will be broadcast live at 4:15
p.m. CST as “The Race of the Week” on Sirius XM Radio on Saturday, November 19.
The two-hour program, which will air live on Sirius Channel 93 and XM Channel
209 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. CST, will be co-hosted by Dave Johnson, the voice of the
Triple Crown for a quarter century, and by award-winning journalist and
commentator Bill Finley. The broadcast will also include the live call of the
$500,000 Delta Downs Princess (Gr. III) for 2-year-old fillies.
Further expanding the coverage of the day’s action at Delta Downs, Sirius XM
will go live from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. CST Saturday with the “Down the Stretch,”
the comprehensive national weekly program also co-hosted by Johnson and Finley.
They will provide listeners from around the country with the latest news,
interviews, analysis and handicapping expertise from the biggest names in
Thoroughbred racing.
The Jackpot Day program will begin at 1:15 p.m. CST. The 11-race card will
feature eight stakes events and nearly $2.2 million in total purse money.
