October 6, 2011 - Grade 1 placed winner Captain Courage has returned to the Four Sixes Ranch for the 2012 breeding season, after standing one year in Louisiana. His first foals will race in 2012.
Owned by Burnett Ranches LLC, Chad Hart and Bobby Mosley, the son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry won or placed in 10 of 11 starts earning $213,215 to 3. He was third in the All American Futurity (G1) and a finalist in the Texas Classic Futurity (G1), All American Derby (G1) and Dash For Cash Derby (G1).
A complete outcross to Dash For Cash and First Down Dash mares, Captain Courage is a half-brother to No. 2 leading living sire of money earners Corona Cartel and No. 1 leading first crop sire of money earners Valiant Hero. His full sister A Dash Of Sweet Heat was the high-selling yearling at the 2011 Ruidoso Select Sale for $650,000.
Captain Courage's dam is champion, Broodmare of the Year and Dam of Distinction Corona Chick, by Chicks Beduino. She is the dam of 12 ROM including champion and All American Futurity (G1) winner Corona Cash ($1,542,880), Grade 1 winners Valiant Hero ($668,633) and Corona Cartel ($557,142), stakes winner Corona Czech ($125,759), Grade 1 placed Mighty Corona ($309,216) and stakes-placed Coco Corona ($37,414).
