Deadline January 15 For All American Triple Crown Races
RUIDOSO DOWNS, New Mexico (January 7, 2011) – The deadline to
nominate foals of 2011 to the record-setting 2013 All American
Triple Crown – the All American, Rainbow and Ruidoso futurities – is
on January 15.
For a single $200 payment, a foal of 2011 is nominated to the 2013
runnings of the Grade 1, $2.6-million All American Futurity, the
Grade 1, $1,000,000 Rainbow Futurity and the Grade 1, $750,000
Ruidoso Futurity. Nominated yearlings will also be nominated to the
2014 runnings of the Grade 1, $1,300,000 (est.) All American Derby,
the Grade 1, $700,000 (est.) Rainbow Derby and the Grade 1, $650,000
(est.) Ruidoso Derby.
If a horse sweeps the 2013 All American, Rainbow and Ruidoso
futurities then that horse’s connections would win the $4,000,000
All American Triple Crown Bonus, the richest bonus in quarter horse
racing.
The 2013 running of the All American Futurity will set an all-time
record purse for a quarter horse race with the $2,600,000 purse. It
will surpass the record of $2,400,000 set in the 2011 All American
Futurity and that will be the purse of the 2012 running.
The 2013 Rainbow Futurity will reach the $1,000,000 mark and become
the second million-dollar futurity at Ruidoso Downs and the third
million-dollar race at the track, joining the All American Futurity
and the All American Derby.
The 2013 Ruidoso Futurity purse of $750,000 will also set an
all-time record for the 350-yard dash. It will surpass the $600,000
that will be offered this June in the Ruidoso Futurity.
For the single $200 payment for a foal of 2011 by January 15 that
foal will be nominated to three 2013 grade 1 futurities with purses
totaling $4,350,000 and their 2014 derby counterparts with combined
purses projected to reach the $2,650,000 level. Added to those sums
is the $4,000,000 bonus to be paid if a horse sweeps the three grade
1 futurities.
Nominators maintain eligibility to all of the races with sustaining
payments on March 15 and June 15. Then owners may select individual
futurities and their corresponding derbies.
