12 DAMS OF STAKES HORSES IN FASIG-TIPTON TEXAS MIXED SALE ON DEC. 12

TTA - Dec. 10, 2011 - The 2012 Fasig-Tipton Texas Mixed Sale will be held on Monday, December 12, at the Texas Thoroughbred Sales Pavilion at Lone Star Park beginning at noon with 131 lots catalogued.

The producing mares slated to go through the auction ring among the first 83 offerings include the dams of six stakes winners and six stakes-placed winners. Covering Texas stallions include Early Flyer, Grasshopper, Intimidator, Jet Phone, Silver City, Sing Baby Sing, Snow Ridge, Special Rate, Too Much Bling, Uncle Abbie and perennial leading sire Valid Expectations.

Scrimshaw, winner of the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (G2) and third in the 2003 Preakness (G1), is the lone stallion in the sale. The winner of $461,842 had his first foals race in 2008 and he is the sire of two stakes winners and five stakes-placed runners.

There are 20 weanlings being offered, including colts by A.P. Warrior, Chatain, Leroidesanimous (sire of 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom), Student Council and Woke Up Dreamin, and fillies by Brahms, Littleexpectations, Scrimshaw, Student Council and Woke Up Dreamin.

The sale will conclude with six yearlings followed by 13 horses of racing age on the block. Hip Nos. 9, 21, 40, 68, 80, 86 and 88 are known "outs" as this is written.
