Full Moon Dasher After Fourth
Straight Win In Merial Distaff Trials on Friday at
Ruidoso
RUIDOSO DOWNS, New Mexico (August 7, 2011) – Senora
Stakes winner Full Moon Dasher comes off three-straight
wins against New Mexico-breds when she takes on open
company in the second of two trials to the Merial
Ruidoso Distaff Challenge on Friday afternoon at Ruidoso
Downs.
First post time for the nine-race program is 1 p.m. with
the Merial Distaff trials over 400 yards running as the
first two races.
The horses with the 10-fastest times from the 14 fillies
and mares in the two trials qualify to race in the
Merial Ruidoso Distaff Challenge on August 28.
Bielau Oaks’ Full Moon Dasher has been sensational in
her latest five starts, all against state-bred
competition. After a pair of second-place runs, she has
reeled off three-straight wins capped by her first
stakes win in the Senora Stakes at SunRay Park. She
prevailed by a head in that 400-yard test with a sharp
:19.267 time.
Champion jockey Jacky Martin rides the John Stinebaugh-trained
Full Moon Dasher for the first time with the outside
post position in the seven-horse field.
Reliance Ranches’ Illegal Fireworks should challenge
Full Moon Dasher for favoritism in the second trial
after upsetting the Juno Request Stakes at Remington
Park in her most recent out. The Walk Thru Fire daughter
got up to get the head victory in :19.751 for 400 yards.
Jimmy Dean Brooks rides Illegal Fireworks from the third
post position.
The wide-open first trial brings out Royal Dream Ranch’s
Urbanite after a four-length win at the Gillespie Fair
in Texas. The four-year-old Check Him Out daughter won
her maiden with that win in :17.834 for 350 yards.
Martin is aboard Urbanite for trainer Alex Sanchez with
the fifth post position.
